Al’s father had a lifetime career in the orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) industry, and Al wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. So Al pursued additional degrees and training beyond the normal college education. He was fortunate to attain hands on training in residency programs in the Veteran’s Administration and at United Prosthetics. Following this, he was able to gain employment at Otto Bock Health Care, a leading O&P manufacturer. This was ideal because it provided Al with extensive real world knowledge and experience in O&P. After this career milestone, he worked for other major O&P organizations before his career took him to Washington, DC in 1999.
After working in the O&P industry for 13 years, Al was prepared to provide a cutting edge facility for O&P care. In November 2007, Al founded Prince William Orthotic and Prosthetic (PWOP) in response to increasing demand for O&P services in the county. Located in the Surgery Center next to Prince William Hospital, PWOP is a patient care facility that includes an on-site fabrication laboratory. The facility boasts rare resources for providing ideal patient care, including the latest technology, personable and knowledgeable staff, schedule availability and quick turnaround times of O&P manufacturing, along with a convenient location.
Al is married to his beautiful wife, Melisa, and has two young children, Bethany and Coleman. In his free time, he can be found playing with his kids and Fargo, their Norwegian Elkhound. He likes to play bass, acoustic, and electric guitar for Sunday service and occasionally fills in for his friend’s band.
