Kid's Corner
At Prince William O&P we are sensitive to the unique care and comfort required for our pediatric patients. We understand that children are not just small adults, and that they react differently to disabilities than do adults. We also find that children adapt very quickly to their orthotic or prosthetic devices, and if fitted early, children almost always accept them with few limitations, and do quite well.
Lower Extremity Bracing
Albert J. Garney, CPO and sole practitioner at Prince William O&P, is an accredited practitioner with Cascade DAFO for the past 5 years, and assists physicians, physical therapists, and patients with product selections for the dynamic ankle foot orthosis system. Please refer to the link above for the Cascade DAFO product selection guide.
Scoliosis Bracing
In 2005 Mr. Garney became a certified participant for Boston Brace System for the treatment of idiopathic scoliosis. This training has led to Mr. Garney’s extensive experience in cobb & blueprinting pediatric thoracic a/p x-rays for the proper design and fabrication of the four styles of Boston Scoliosis Bracing.
Pediatric Prosthetics
Mr. Garney gained experience in pediatric prosthetics while working at Otto Bock Health Care, in Minneapolis, MN, which is a world-renowned manufacturer of both upper and lower prosthetic components. By working as a prosthetic technician, Mr. Garney learned first hand the importance of product knowledge and application of prosthetic devices.
