Company Profile

Prince William O&P specializes in fabricating custom orthotics to support weak, impaired or injured muscles and joints; prosthetic devices to patients with total or partial loss of limb; and pedorthic services for patients who require custom molded shoes and inserts.  Our goal is to provide comfortable fitting devices to patients of all ages and functionality to enable them to return to a productive lifestyle.

Albert J. Garney, CPO and Owner/CEO, is the sole practitioner of Prince William O&P.  Mr. Garney entered the field of orthotics and prosthetics in 1994 after working with diabetic clientele in the orthopedic shoe industry.

Mr. Garney’s father had a lifetime career in the O&P industry and Mr. Garney grew up knowing that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Between 1994 and 1999 Mr. Garney received two associate degrees both in Orthotics and Prosthetics and a Certificate in Advanced Prosthetic Practitioner Specialty from Century College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.  Mr. Garney also received his BA in History with a Minor in Accounting from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

After college he worked his residency programs with the VA Medical Center in Boston, MA and for United Prosthetics, Inc. in Dorchester, MA. Mr. Garney obtained extensive knowledge of orthotic and prosthetic devices while working for Otto Bock Health Care in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In 1999, Mr. Garney’s education and training lead him to work for a DC Metropolitan area Orthotic and Prosthetic company where he became a Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist with the American Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

After working in the O&P industry for over 13 years, Mr. Garney recognizes the increasing demand for orthotic and prosthetic services in Prince William County and the surrounding area, and has opened up his own patient care facility with an on-site fabrication laboratory.  Mr. Garney strategically located this facility in the Surgery Center next to Prince William Hospital to afford patients the opportunity to receive local quality care, that is both convenient and proactive to aid in their complete rehabilitation.
